Top Ten Tuesday (28) One Seaters

Top Ten Tuesday is an original
feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the
Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Top Ten Books to Read in a Day…

I looked back over the past year to see which books I read in a day. There are a lot of factors that influence these statistics. Most of them fall during the holidays or Spring Break, some time when I am off and can sit and devote time to reading only (as long as you ignore my house). Length. Deliciousness. Some books I would have read in a day, but were part of a read-a-long forcing me to put it down. One Seaters can be broken down into a few categories:

OMG! It is so good and so sad. I just want to get to the end and hope everything turns out ok.

The Contemporaries. You can hit the ground running. No worlds to understand or rules to keep straight.

Series. The series you are already into. The world isn’t new and you just can’t wait to see what happens next.

  • Fair Game by Patricia Briggs
  • At Grave’s End by Jeaniene Frost
  • Midnight Sun by Stephanie Meyers

New and Awesome. Bonus.

  1. Don’t forget the Classics. Don’t write them off. These can be the best books of all. Great writing and they’ve stood the test of time, too.

    Ciao!

Here’s my Top Ten Books to Read in a Day. Let me know what you think of my list!

I like how you broke it up into categories! Contemps~ great point on the no world to deal with learning!!! Eh, I pretty much avoid those anyways b/c I need to leave reality A LOT ;) Totally and utterly agree with you on your series list!!! Every one (you have great taste)!!! Although I took 2 days to read Fair Game… *sigh*

And if there’s 5 comments from me, SORRY! I’m arguing with WP and gravatar right now…

  4. Hahaha! Midnight Sun!!! Of course. I used to read it weekly. Gawd, I miss my Twilight addiction days. :)

  5. The first category that came to mind for me is series books. I’m usually really anxious to get through those quickly before I see spoilers. Living Dead Girl is another one that is a fast (and horrific) read. Glad to hear that Incarnate and Under the Never Sky have one-day potential. I still need to read Just Listen too.
    Awesome list!
