Top Ten Tuesday (34): 30 Years From Now

Top Ten Tuesday is an original
feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the
Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Top Ten Books I Hope People are Still Reading 30 Years From Now…

The Fault in Our Stars and Between Shades of Gray. Both of these books show the beauty and humanity that can still exist during horrific situations.

Divergent and Hunger Games. These show our youth that it is possible to stand up against what may seem insurmountable odds to do what is right and evoke change.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson and Looking for Alaska. Books like these give voice to the insecurities that all people face and give a voice to segments of our population that don’t always have a voice in mainstream media.

Scorpio Races, Rot & Ruin and The Forest of Hands and Teeth. One these are beautifully crafted, but they also show people that just keep on going no matter what. Everyone should have dreams even if they seem mundane.

Graceling. Adventure and the strength of the Human Spirit.

  1. I have read 3 of these and have 3 more on my TBR! I have enjoyed everyone’s picks today :)

  2. Fabulous choices – and I really like your reasoning as well. I hope that they all become classics. Thanks for your list!

  3. Lovely choices and I like your category grouping. The first two are ones that came to mind when I saw this topic. I still need to make it a priority to read Rot & Ruin and Looking for Alaska sometime.

  4. Oooh GREAT choices!! I haven’t read all of them, but the ones that I have are AMAZING!!

  5. LOVE your list! TFIOS and The Scorpio Races were on my list, too, and I almost put several others from your list on my mine. I really need to read Rot & Ruin. Also… I totally read “Between Shades of Grey” as “Fifty Shades of Grey”. Not that I was judging you or anything…

  6. Graceling is an amazing book! I loved Katsa!
