[Top Ten Tuesday] Bookish Confessions (40)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

Top Ten Bookish Confessions…

  1. I used to be a PAGE BENDER, but now I am a STICKY WHORE.
  2. I did not love the Shade series by Jeri Smith-Ready.
  3. I do love smutty reads for a quickie on the weekend.
  4. I spend more money on books than I do clothes.
  5. I liked Breaking Dawn and Mockingjay. #finalbookhaters
  6. I probably won’t make any more progress toward reading The Lord of the Rings series. #urghnoenergy #toodaunting
  7. I tend to UNFOLLOW people that brag about their loot.
  8. I have to mix it up, but a lot of ADULT is creeping in to my reads.
  9. Half-Price Books may cause a divorce in my future.
  10. I’m a rule follower. I must read books in ORDER.

  1. Hah – I reckon I spend more money on books than I spend on food! Excluding chocolate of course…
I also haven’t read TLotR. Nor have I watched the movies, actually.

    • It was my goal to read the classics, because of some bullying friends. But I don’t think it is going to happen. The movies are good. I may have to leave it at that.

  2. I like to read books in order, too! Even if they don’t need to be read in order.

  3. I DEFINITELY spend more money on books than clothes! Which explains why my space on my bookshelves is limited and space in my closet is growing lol.
I haven’t read the Shade series, but I’m interested to pick it up one of these days to see how I feel about it. I want to know if I agree! I feel like I tend not to a lot.

  4. I spend more money on books than I do clothes/shoes/accessories combined. (THIS) (just don’t count socks/pjs because I LOVE socks/pjs for reading outfits)!

Oh I was at Half Price books on Saturday and I didn’t buy anything. It felt weird :(

  5. I definitely spend a lot of money on books (especially if I factor in that I got an iPad specifically to read ebooks)…though I’m trying to use the library more. I also only read books in order, and get disproportionately upset if I somehow discover I’ve read them OUT of order. :)

Great list–thanks for sharing your TTT!

  6. I totally get the reading in order thing. I always try to find out if the author prefers people read in publication order or story chronology order.

  7. No Half Price Books near me, thankfully (the closest one is 2.5 hours away :D). Otherwise, I’d never have *any* money! :)

  8. Great confessions, Amy! I see more Adult sneaking into my reads too. It’s good to shake it up. Yes to #5 too. End of series books can be so controversial! I must admit I thought you would like the Shade series, ah well. And regarding Half Price Books – at least you are not hiding your book purchases from your husband!
    Thanks for sharing :)

    • I think my state of mind when I read something does something to how I feel & sometimes the series never recovers. I liked Shade just not love. I actually felt giving myself some kind of psycho analysis to see what was blocking my love.

No biggie. Lots of greatness out there.

  9. I with you on numbers 3 (but more than the weekends, sometimes all the time!), 5, 7, 8, and 10…But I must leave you to yourself on #1. I have a very intricate page fold system myself ;) And can never remember to hold on to my sticky notes. Though I am trailed by a school child sized notebook with attached pen for note taking purposes.

    • Your ebook note system had me in awe. My poor ebook reviews usually suffer, because I can’t keep up with my stickies (without pages to sandwich them.) & hate the eNote feature.

  10. Ugh. Breaking Dawn. Blech. LOL. I didn’t hate Mockingjay…

    IN ORDER. Always.

    No love for Zachary? *sniff*

    • It is a confession. * hangs head* I probably need the protection of a religious figure, I know.

I love Zachary. I totally think it was The whole virginity thing that made me crazy.

  11. I have to read books in order too. Even if they are companion novels. I can’t stand to skip. Which is why The Queen’s Lady is still sitting on my shelf because I haven’t read The Other Countess yet.

  12. Ha! Amy, I share in a lot of your confessions. Lately, I’ve pretty much given up on YA, and gone all out with the smexy reads. :)
