In this dramatic conclusion to the Shade trilogy, Aura and Zachary’s relationship sizzles as the secrets of the Shift are revealed.

Life can change in an instant, and no one understands that better than Aura. It’s been almost a year since her boyfriend tragically died. She’s finally letting go of Logan’s violet-hued ghost, but not her search to uncover the truth about her past.

As the first in a generation that can see ghosts, Aura is convinced she has a connection to the Shift. She’s trusted Zachary, ever patient and ever by her side, with all that she knows. But when the government threatens his life in an attempt to learn Aura’s secrets, she will stop at nothing to protect herself and the one she loves…even if that means betraying her own heart. OK guys, I know I am in the minority. This is not my favorite YA series. I do like all the characters and the premise.

The book dives into the action right off the bat. Logan does finally pass on, which brings about some changes among the Keeleys. But before he did, he gives Zachary a surprise visit. I can’t really delve too much into even the beginning without being a SPOILERY reviewer. Aura and Zachary are very much on the “watch” and “in-danger” list. You’ll enjoy the cloak and danger twists and turns.

One of the things that annoyed me the most in the previous books was Aura’s virginity. So I did a face plant when I discovered that she hadn’t lost it in Shift. *gasp* Surely, I’m not the only one? I will admit that the sexy times are very nice and very tender. Bravo. Fans will enjoy.

Aura and Zachary will make it to Newgrange. Some very cool stuff happens. There is a lot of book left to go and I found myself flipping the pages trying to figure it out. She’ll make you read all the way to the very end to get closure. Kudos on making us go to the end, but I still feel like the whole mystery is a mystery. Inquiring Minds want to know. I would have enjoyed more explanation related to the Shift.

Some times the key to the end lies in its beginning.

  1. I just never read this one–I made it through the first two but I just never could make myself read this one :)

  2. I’m with Felicia on this one. I read the first two, but the series itself never pulled me in enough to seek out the third.

  3. I still haven’t read this book either, though it’s waiting for me on my kindle. That’s surprising that there is still so much mystery even though it’s the last book in the series. I don’t love Zachary that much, so maybe that’s kept me from reading this one. Otherwise I liked the first two pretty well. The sexy times have me intrigued :) Awesome review, Amy.
