Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created here at The Broke and the Bookish. This feature was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We’d love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!
Top Ten Bookish People I Want to Meet…
I’m going to make this an Austin Teen Book Festival Edition. I am crossing my fingers that nothing gets in my way this year. My daughter and I are so psyched about trekking down to Austin for this year’s line up.
Libba Bray. She is so smart and hilarious. I loved Beauty Queens. She did such a clever and humorous job at pointing out and poking fun at all the negative female stereotypes. I hope that I get Going Bovine read before heading down to Austin.
Marissa Meyer. I really enjoyed Cinder, her retelling of Cinderella. It was so fun and creative. I can’t wait to continue the series as she adapts another fairy tale to continue the original story.
Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl. Duo writing teams amaze me. I really loved the first 2 in the Caster Chronicles. I nice blend of magical and historical. Looking forward to getting caught up in this series.
Elizabeth Scott. She really knows how to give your heart a workout. It smiled big in Stealing Heaven and it broke in two during Living Dead Girl.
Ally Carter. My daughter is in hog-heaven over her. She is a huge Gallagher Girls fan and we both loved the charming Heist Society. She is a must author if you have teen girls.
Ally Condie. I can’t wait to see what she has to say about dystopian worlds based on love.
Other authors I’m excited to meet, but haven’t read their books yet. I am working hard to remedy this before we get there. Neil Schusterman. He has a cult following of bloggers and readers. I can’t wait to join it. Leigh Bardugo and Rae Carson. I can’t wait to get immersed into the worlds they’ve created.

It must be so exciting to be headed to a book festival where you can meet all your favorite authors – and share that experience with your daughter! I hope you get to meet everyone on your list
You can meet all of them! I will cross my fingers, toes, and eyes for you
You rock. Just hope my galope makes it to Austin & back.
My fingers are crossed for you! These would all be amazing authors to meet.
Thanks
Something always comes up. I’ve made it to 1:10 that I’ve planned on.
Leigh Bardugo is SUCH a blast! I’ve got to see her twice at signings now and she’s really funny and super nice
Wonderful list!! I’m so jealous you get to go to the Austin Teen Book Festival. Have fun!
