Georgina Kincaid’s job sucks. Literally.
Love hurts, and no one knows it better than Georgina Kincaid. If she so much as kisses Seth Mortensen, the shy, sexy, incredibly gifted Seattle writer she’s been dating, she’ll drain his life force. Georgina is a succubus–a demon who draws her power from other men’s pleasure. Admittedly, the shapeshifting and immortality perks are terrific, and yes, Georgina did choose to join the ranks of hell centuries ago. But it seems completely unfair that a she-demon whose purpose is seduction can’t get hot and heavy with the one mortal who knows and accepts her for who she is…
It’s not just her personal life that’s in chaos. Doug, Georgina’s co-worker at a local bookstore, has been exhibiting bizarre behavior, and Georgina suspects that something far more demonic than double espressos is at work. She could use help finding out, but Bastien, an irresistibly charming incubus and her best immortal friend, is preoccupied with corrupting an ultra-conservative talk radio star–and giving Georgina some highly distracting come-hither vibes. Georgina is going to have to work solo on this one–and fast because soon, Doug’s life won’t be the only one on the line… (Source: Book Cover)
I am completely in love with Georgina and her crew. In Succubus Blues, she had me laughing all the way through. In Succubus on Top, her heart really shines. She dives into the deep end to help her friends. She helps out her old friend, Bastien, take down a hypocritical-bigoted woman yielding hatred. *fist pump* Then she goes all detective against dark forces that are threatening to pull Doug over the deep end. She brings the bookstore some wild success, despite the fact that they are grossly understaffed and in crisis mode. That giant “S” on her stands for “Super Succubus.”
But her heart really sparkles when she is with Seth. Georgina still doesn’t think she deserves him. She continues to tell him to walk away from her. *heart breaks* As much as she desires him, she won’t let herself take one ounce of his life force. She has to ask herself is this really love or is it just an unrealized conquest? All the chaos she is wrapped in takes them through the journey of testing those questions. It is heart-wrenching and tender. I think I might be falling in love with Seth too. There are definite rewards to hanging around through the journey. This is a MUST Adult Urban Fantasy series. I hope you’ll join me in being a fan-girl.
When obstacles lead to creativity in how we love each other.
