TRIBUTARY, a novella (1/2 the length of a normal novel), picks up a year after BOURNE… Lia struggles to overcome the fear that constant battle has heaped upon her; Gabi and Marcello face an unexpected crisis; and Lord Greco just may be ready to leave the grief and loss of his past behind him, so that he might grab hold of the future…(Source: Goodreads)

I can’t tell you how much I love this series. Plus her novellas are better, meatier than any I’ve read from another series. Lisa knows how to give us maximum bang for our buck.

Just like the previous novella, Gabi and Marcello take a back seat. Lisa gives them a very good reason to hang out at home manning the home front. When a rider comes charging into the clearing during an expedition close to the border, Rodolfo is forced to injure the rider protecting his Lord. Everyone is shocked that the rider is a girl, Alessandra. But the bad news, she is from the neighboring kingdom. This puts them in a tricky situation, one that could bring them back to war with each other.

Rodolfo spends his days seeing to Alessandra’s recovery. Is his interest guilt, kinsman-ship or is there something more? But Rodolfo does seek understanding from her that she isn’t willing to give easily. He wants someone from his own clan to understand the reasons behind the choices he made.

Alessandra is a girl after our own heart. She is much like Gabi and Lia and isn’t going to sit around being told what to do, especially in the enemy camp. So she decides to rescue herself, which leads to even bigger problems for everyone.

Lisa doesn’t disappoint. She gives us action, twists and turns and more slow building romance.

Independent women and their knights in shining armor.

  2. I love this series as well! I keep pushing it on people so I can gab about it. I have such a hard time choosing between Marcello, Luca, and Greco. So many handsome, charming Italian men. *sigh*

  3. I so need to do the rest of this series! Blah. I think I should ask for it for Christmas…a stocking suffer maybe? Even as an officially “Fully Grown Adult”, for many years, my mother still asks for a Christmas list. Yep. Ha. Though this may go on it… ;)
