Angel Crawford is finally starting to get used to life as a brain-eating zombie, but her problems are far from over. Her felony record is coming back to haunt her, more zombie hunters are popping up, and she’s beginning to wonder if her hunky cop-boyfriend is involved with the zombie mafia. Yeah, that’s right—the zombie mafia.
Throw in a secret lab and a lot of conspiracy, and Angel’s going to need all of her brainpower—and maybe a brain smoothie as well—in order to get through it without falling apart. (Source: Goodreads)
I left My Life as a White Trash Zombie wondering what could possibly give Angel the blues. She was getting cleaned up, had a good job and a new boyfriend. I just wanted her to be happy and couldn’t bear for anything to get her down.
Her world gets turned upside down when a body is stolen at gunpoint on her watch. But she isn’t going to fall back into the role of victim again. She is determined to clear her name and doesn’t mind getting dirty to do it. Angel also isn’t going to let anybody make decisions for her, including Marcus. He really disappointed me, especially when he threw her past back in her face.
I really enjoyed the heart of the book where Angel did the most growing. She felt like life was kicking her when she was down, and it kind of was. She refused to give up. I really loved watching her come into her own investigating the mystery of the twice dead zombie. She showed a lot of ingenuity. Being on the outs with Marcus, gave her more time to work on things with her dad. Angel offered her dad unconditional love on his bumpy road of recovery. I loved all of the their exchanges. They were genuine and real. No sugar coating at all. Mostly, I loved how the people around Angel let her know that they believed in her. *warm hugs*
Hold on to your brains! This mystery gets CRAZY. The detective work was awesome. I the WHO in my sights. The WHY made me tilt my head to the side and utter, “uhhh?”.
I can’t wait to wade through the apocalypse Diana Rowland is going to throw at Angel. I don’t doubt she can handle anything thrown her way.
There is nothing like a White Trash Zombie to give you some perspective and make you want to be a better person.
